USCIS Updates Case Expedite Criteria in Policy Manual

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has updated its policy manual with regard to request for expedited processing.  The expedited processing request system is a method for asking USCIS for a faster response based on certain types of compelling circumstances, and is completely separate from the premium processing system whereby certain types of filings can be expedited by simply paying an additional fee without regard to reasons for the request.

This update seeks to clarify criteria and circumstances where requests are made for nonprofits organizations, and explains certain circumstances which may justify not expediting a petition or application.  Other than these changes, it appears that the update only adds examples covering certain situations or types of petitioners.
