US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced yesterday that they wou7ld conduct a second round of H-1B lottery selections for Fiscal 2025 “soon.”

The new selection will only apply to the regular cap, not to the additional 20,000 H-1Bs allotted for those with US Master’s degrees.  However, as those not selected in the initial Master’s cap lottery were then included in the pool for the core 65,000 H-1b selection process, we wouldn’t anticipate this distinction to actually eliminate anyone form consideration.

It isn’t yet clear when this second selection will take place, or how many additional applicants will be selected.
