USCIS Announces Plan for June 4 Reopening

US Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced plans to reopen offices for in-person appointments as of June 4, 2020.

Since their closure on March 18, 20920, USCIS offices have not been conducting in-person appointments (as needed for adjustment interviews, naturalization interviews, biometrics appointments, and various other matters) and supposedly have been working “perform mission-essential services that do not require face-to-face contact with the public” (per the USCIS announcement here: https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-offices-preparing-reopen-june-4). It’s unclear exactly what these services entail, since our office has not during this period been receiving long-awaited decisions on cases pending with the local offices that have been closed for their normal activities.

We would expect to begin receiving appointment notices for rescheduled appointments to take place after the Jun 4 reopening shortly.
