USCIS Announces Fiscal 2020 H-1B Cap Reached

Late on Friday April 5, US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it has received sufficient cap-subject H-1B filings to reach the Fiscal 2020 regular cap. The Service indicated that it would now begin determining if it had received more than the allotted 20,000 US Master’s Cap cases.

This is hardly a surprise, as the cap has been met during the first five business days of April – the period during which USCIS accepts cases for inclusion in the lottery – for the last several years.

USCIS will conduct its lottery, begin performing date entry and receipt notice issuance for selected cases, and begin to process these cases while returning unselected case.
