The Bureau of Consular Affairs has now formally rescinded guidance released in November of 2020 on prioritization of visa services.  This provides consular posts with far greater discretion to handle application types common in their consular districts and which may have been backlogged under the prior administration.

The Bureau indicates that there will likely continue to be local conditions as well as restrictions in place at particular consulates causing ongoing delays in visa processing.
