Physician Signature 60-day Rule Permanently Eliminated

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued guidance permanently removing the rule that a civil surgeon’s signature on the required I-693 Medical Exam form needed to be dated within 60 days before the case was submitted.

There had been a temporary waiver of this rule in effect since December of 2021, so it had been some time since applicants and practitioners needed to abide by this requirements in any event – but the new guidance permanently removes this concern.

This guidance is effective as of March 31, 2023.
