VC Firm CRV Takes Pro-immigration/Anti-Trump Stance – Medium/TechCrunch

A noted Venture Capital firm, CRV (formerly Charles River Ventures) has very publicly denounced the Trump presidential candidacy and noted that Trump’s views on immigration are “diametrically opposed to the core values of entrepreneurship”: https://medium.com/@CharlesRiverVentures/f-ck-trump-691946de213#.e6u31olul. The firm notes that as a firm, “Our 9 partners come from 7 countries and speak 8 different languages, hailing from Greece, India, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Venezuela as well as the United States.”
In an interview with TechCrunch, CRV General Partner George Zachary discusses the stance of the firm’s leadership towards the risk of offending some people by coming forward so emphatically: “We weren’t focused on that risk, but we don’t really care about that risk. Threatening immigrants coming in to this country — a country of refugees — is very scary to me. It would basically be cutting off the ability for new economies and industries to be built.” https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/24/crv-the-venture-firm-campaigns-against…
